I am just relieved I don't have kids in the school system now...it's such a minefield and the CRT indoctrination is abhorrent.

Parents at MV are fighting back against the state department of education. They have started a petition on change.org to make their voices heard.

Good to see folks are fighting back. I read the MVRCS’s mission statement, and it seems reasonable to me. But not surprised that the BESE and DESE rejected it. This bunch most likely believe riots are peaceful and men can breast feed. They hate America. They hate the values of the Constitution, and the power it vests in us all,” whom they view with absolute contempt. They are most likely all Democrats. Thank goodness the MVRCS’s is standing by their principles. The question for many that have jumped on the FAIR bad wagon is will the liberals that help create this toxic ideology really fight to crush it or is it simply a matter that the mob they encouraged is now coming for their kids and they’re upset. They helped set the conditions that allowed this garbage to proliferate. They insisted on electing progressives to school boards, county seats, city councils and continue to do so.

I have attended multiple joint zoom events here in SoCal with the local FAIR and The Alliance for Constructive Ethnic Studies (ACES). Weird but those engagements always come with some admission from their leadership that they are in fact mostly Democrats. Why would that matter? I guess those that are not part of their club should feel gratitude for being allowed to participate in dismantling the shit show they help create. When an ACE leader was asked on a joint event with FAIR relative to how the CA ciricuculum evolved into this anti American toxic racist hate, they simply could not answer the question. Really? How many of the ACES / FAIR club voted for politicians that approved AB101 (CA ethnic studies curriculum)? Yep, all democrats. How many voted and keep voting and supporting those that allowed this crap to dominate the vast majority of our school boards in progressive fantasy lands like CA and Mass. ACES is doing great work and I admire them greatly and will still send $$$. But you can’t have it both ways. The ACES site still insists on referring to Hispanics as Latinx a demeaning term hated by 98% of Hispanics. The disconnect is bizarre. It’s OK to let go. Really!

FAIR and ACES can do great important work, but these two orgs are endangered of becoming dominated by the same woke elites they claim to be fighting against. Their leaders reside in places like Manhattan, probably bits of Brooklyn and Echo Park. FAIR and ACES still appear to want to dominate the cultural and intellectual conversation by doing things like proposing their own alternative to CRT and other curriculums. Why just not teach the truth. The good, the bad and very ugly. It’s so much easier and yes us dummies that reside in places like 51st congressional district one of the poorest in the country will be just fine. We can handle the truth.

Great article! Thanks

I'm not clear on how a "culturally responsive" Algebra or Chemistry class would differ from how those are taught in "non-culturally responsive" ways. Can someone please explain?
